Pithflow

Dictate Slack messages instead of typing them

Pithflow types directly into Slack — desktop app or browser. Hold Ctrl + Space, say it, release. The cleanup handles the 'um's so your messages read tight.

How to use Pithflow in Slack

  1. 1 Open any Slack channel or DM
  2. 2 Click the message box (or press Ctrl+K to find a channel first)
  3. 3 Hold Ctrl + Space, dictate your message
  4. 4 Release — clean text appears in the message box
  5. 5 Hit Enter to send

Frequently asked questions

Does Pithflow work in the Slack desktop app and in the browser?

Yes. It puts the text into Slack's message box in the desktop app or on slack.com, like any other text field. There is nothing to install in Slack.

Can my Slack messages skip the formal punctuation?

Yes. Auto chat style, in the Style tab, writes messages in Slack, Discord, WhatsApp and web chats in a casual chat style: “sounds good, send it” rather than “Sounds good, send it.”

Does it send the message for me?

No. The text lands in the message box and you press Enter, so you can check it first.

Can I dictate a long update without holding a key?

Yes. Tap the hands-free hotkey to start and again to stop. Pro and Team have no limit on how long one recording runs.
