Pithflow connector for AI assistants

Pithflow speaks the Model Context Protocol (MCP), so an AI assistant can answer questions about your own Pithflow data — what was said in a meeting you recorded, which terms you have taught it, which snippets you use, how much you have dictated.

Two connectors, and the difference matters

There are two, and they reach different things. Read this bit before you pick one.

• The remote connector — added inside Claude or ChatGPT with a URL. Read-only. It sees your recorded meetings — their notes and full transcripts — plus your dictionary terms, your snippets and your usage totals. It still cannot see your dictations, because Pithflow does not keep those on its servers. Meetings are the exception, and only because you recorded them on purpose.
• The local connector — runs on your own Windows machine as part of the Pithflow app, for use with Claude Desktop or Claude Code. It can read your full dictation history, because that history is on that machine. Reading it sends nothing to us.

If you want to search what you have dictated, you want the local one — that history never leaves your machine. If you want your meetings, or you want it working on your phone or in a browser, you want the remote one.

The remote connector

Add this URL as a custom connector:

Enter it exactly, with no trailing slash. You will be sent to a Pithflow consent screen, where you sign in with your Pithflow email and password and confirm the connection. The password is used for that one sign-in and is never stored.

Where you can add it

Any assistant that speaks MCP over HTTP can use it. Nothing needs to be installed and nothing needs approving — you paste the URL above and sign in. These are the exact steps per app.

• Claude — Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
• ChatGPT — Settings → Connectors → Add.
• Google Antigravity — agent panel menu → MCP Servers → Manage MCP Servers → View raw config. The field must be called serverUrl; Antigravity does not accept url or httpUrl, and a wrong key fails quietly.
• Cursor — add it to .cursor/mcp.json (this project) or ~/.cursor/mcp.json (everywhere), under mcpServers, as "url".
• VS Code with Copilot — run MCP: Add Server from the Command Palette, or add it to .vscode/mcp.json under servers with "type": "http".
• Zed — Agent Panel → Add Server → Add Remote Server.
• Cline — remote server config, with "type": "streamableHttp".
• Goose — add an extension of type streamable_http.
• LM Studio — add it under mcpServers with url.

Each one then shows Pithflow's seven tools. Sign-in is handled for you: Pithflow registers itself with the app automatically, so there is no key to copy and no client ID to create.

What it can do

• get_vocabulary — your saved dictionary terms: what you say, and what you want written instead. Optionally filtered by a search word.
• get_snippets — your trigger phrases, what each expands to, and how often you have used it.
• get_usage_summary — words and audio seconds dictated this week and this month, plus your plan.
• list_meetings — your recorded meetings, newest first: title, date, length, and whether it was in person or a video call.
• get_meeting — one meeting's notes: a summary, the key points ranked by how many times each came up, the decisions, and the action items.
• search_meetings — find meetings that mention a word or phrase, with a short excerpt around each hit.
• get_meeting_transcript — the full text of what was said, a page at a time.

That is the whole surface. It is read-only: nothing it does can add, change or delete anything in your account, and no tool accepts an account or user id — every call is scoped to the account whose token you authorised, and cannot reach anyone else's data.

The local connector

Open Pithflow, go to Settings → Advanced → Claude Desktop and press Connect. That writes the configuration for you and tells you which file it wrote — Claude Desktop keeps that file in one of two places depending on how it was installed, and its own “Edit Config” button opens the wrong one for Microsoft Store installs. Restart Claude Desktop afterwards.

It can search your dictation history, show statistics including your English/Spanish split, list the corrections you have made, and edit your dictionary and snippets. Editing tools always ask before they run.

One thing worth being clear about: reading your history sends nothing anywhere, but editing a dictionary term or snippet syncs that change to your Pithflow account, exactly as making the same edit in the app would.

If something is not working

• “Nobody is signed in to Pithflow” — the local connector reads the account signed into the Pithflow app. Open Pithflow, sign in, then restart your AI assistant.
• Two tools return nothing — expected on a new account. get_vocabulary and get_snippets only return entries once you have saved some in Pithflow's Dictionary and Snippets tabs. get_usage_summary works immediately and reports zeros until you dictate.
• It stopped working after a while — a connection expires after 60 days without use. Remove and re-add the connector.
• Your dictionary looks empty but is not — on the Free plan, syncing stops if you go past 25 dictionary terms or 10 snippets. Remove a few, or upgrade.

Disconnecting

Remove the connector in Claude or ChatGPT and it can no longer be used. To have the stored tokens deleted immediately as well, email [email protected]. For the local connector, remove the Pithflow entry from Claude Desktop's configuration file — the Connect button in Settings tells you where it is.
