Anyone who has read a thread knows the pattern. The catch is that the good version is four paragraphs of typing, and you're already six threads deep.
The thing you know that's worth posting usually needs context, a caveat, and an example. That's a paragraph you can say in forty seconds and won't sit down to type. Dictation is the difference between posting it and closing the tab.
The title is one short line and it decides whether anyone opens the post. The body has room for the whole story. It usually works best to type the title deliberately and dictate the body, because those two jobs pull in opposite directions.
Reddit is unforgiving about tone, and a first draft spoken out loud is a first draft. The text waits in the box, which gives you the reread that saves you from the version you'd have regretted. Treat that pause as part of the workflow.

Two rows there go against us and both are true. Reddit's rich text editor will format for you and dictation mostly won't — Pithflow's Smart formatting can turn a spoken list into bullets, but you still add the bold and the headings yourself. And voice typing already ships with Windows, while Pithflow is a program you have to install.
Nothing in that table works offline either. Microsoft documents voice typing as using online speech recognition, and Reddit is a website. If you need dictation with no connection, the tool you want is Windows 11's Voice Access, which recognises on-device.

Note what it did not do: it didn't add a heading, a bullet list, or bold text. That part is still yours, and on Reddit it's usually one blank line in the right place.
